Sociology

Students are encouraged to become curious about the world in which they live, the groups they belong to and the influences which impact upon their lives. In lessons, students will explore the causes of a range of social issues, increasing their political literacy and providing opportunity to focus on their personal identity, roles and responsibilities within society. Students will be able to demonstrate independence, curiosity, resilience and reflective thinking throughout the course. This will provide the foundation for becoming active members of society in which they will be equipped with the skills needed to find solutions to social issues and to see the world with empathy.
