Classical Civilisation

In Classical Civilisation, our aim is to offer learners a wonderful opportunity to expand their understanding of the world, and all its diversity through an in depth study of the Ancient World. Classical Civilisation examines the Literature, History, Religion, Politics and Art of the Classical World allowing our students to further appreciate the influence it has had on our society today. Our aim is to encourage students to engage with ideas about gender, historical leaders, heroes, mythology, the role religion plays in Ancient life as well as much more.

Our vision is to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of the Classical world and to equip them with the necessary skillset to consider, explore and evaluate the way our modern world and culture has been affected and influenced by this significant time period.

We believe that a love of Literature, History, and Religion amongst the other Humanities disciplines enhances students’ cultural understanding and prepares them for life beyond school.
