Alternative Provision
Alternative Provision
In order to meet the diverse educational needs of all students here at Prince Henry’s, some of our students access an Alternative Curriculum.
This Alternative Curriculum takes a variety of bespoke forms and is a specialised provision. This provision is directed by senior colleagues to meet specific student needs.
The Lodge
The Lodge is located directly across the road from our main school site. We offer a wide range of academic and vocational subjects in small groups in The Lodge where students are supported on a personalised learning programme to ensure they meet their GCSE target grades and make at least expected progress. All our students are closely monitored by Mr Timperley, Lodge Form Tutor, who also delivers the ASDAN Award Scheme.
When students embark on this alternative pathway we are committed to building the confidence, enthusiasm and skills they will need to continue in education, employment or training when they leave Prince Henry’s. In line with our high expectations, the students experience a broad, bespoke curriculum that suits their individual needs, increases their cultural awareness and enhances their life chances.
The Bridge House
The Bridge House is an onsite provision which supports students to access a mainstream curriculum by offering an individualised, tailored approach to meet educational needs, where students may need additional help attending school. The curriculum focus is on Core subjects supported by specialist staff and students are also offered emotional support. Mr Ridings, Wellbeing Support Assistant, is the daily contact in The Bridge House.
We are delighted that our work in both The Lodge and the Bridge House was most recently recognised by Ofsted during a two day inspection visit during March 2024. Please view the full Ofsted report on the school website.
