Product Design
3D Design (Product Design)
This A Level course allows students to develop their skills in 3D Design including Architectural Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, Jewellery Design, Interior Design, Illustration, 3D Computer Design and more, as well as extending their understanding of critical analysis of the work of other designers. In their first year, students will investigate the materials, techniques and processes used in Design, which will then support their second year studies in visual recording and communication where they will be given a theme to investigate and will be expected to produce an outcome based on this theme. Students will also develop their skills as critical thinkers, where they will be set the task of analysing the work of another designer and discussing their opinions on this work. The creative process unit will support learners to develop their own visual style through the presentation of a self-led project on a theme of their choice. 3D Design is a key subject for those wishing to progress into an artistic or technical area where presentation and creativity are important. We aim to ensure that our students achieve the best possible experiences in Design and Technology, to become lifelong learners sharing the same joy of the subject that their teachers have.
