The A Level English Language Department at Prince Henry’s endeavours to enable students to have a broad and detailed knowledge of not only the functions and uses of language but also how it is used in a range of different contexts. We aim to develop our students’ cultural capital and awareness of how language is used within society giving them the skills to use and appreciate language in its many forms.
English Language invites students to consider not only the language they use but also the language used in the world around them. Students are invited to consider how the language they and other use can change how we see the world around us.
