The Youth award Pupils were treated to a trip back in time when they visited Dresden House Grade 2 listed Building in Evesham High Street. They were investigating costs of properties and setting up a new business. The rooms were being refurbished and planning applications are in the process of being made. Mr Tony Rowland, Director of Timothy Lea and Griffiths explained that years ago he had known the property to be a Tailors where his parents bought clothes. Over the years Dresden House has been various restaurants and eateries, the most recent being Mountbatten’s. Mr Rowland said “ The property is coming full circle back to being a residential property”. The second property was 59 Bridge Street. The property had a dark cellar and deep well, creating a spooky atmosphere for a potential business opportunity. The pupils were able to ask questions about the issues of starting up a business in Evesham. Mr Rowland warned the pupils of the dangers of his job, including his fear of snakes, when he was called in to value a Reptile Retail Shop. Taylor Page was able to reassure Mr Rowland that in his experience, being bitten by a false cobra was fine! The pupils showed their appreciation and thanked Mr Rowland for his lively presentation of the properties.
