Grace Gardner 9C: ‘There were so many opportunities available throughout the day and plenty more that I would like to go and experience during the rest of the festival! The food, toys, crafts and books were all really fun; having a photo taken with The Gruffalo was a funny moment too. The gothic writing workshop with award-winning author Lucy Strange was very interesting, educational and enjoyable. I would definitely go back to Cheltenham Literature Festival’.
Cady Rochester 9M: ‘We went to a writing workshop run by the gothic author Lucy Strange. We got the opportunity to learn about how to write gothic settings and characters. Afterwards, I even got a signed and stamped copy of her new book! We then went to the festival area, which was full of different food, tents, and activities – we got to make our own bookmarks, play games, and browse books. My favourite part was the workshop; I personally enjoy creative writing in English, so getting praise and advice from someone who is an expert in that area made me feel more confident in my ideas.
