On Friday the 20th of September, Year 13 Geography students visited The John Moore Museum in Tewkesbury as a part of their preparation for their NEA coursework. During the visit, pupils learned about the drastic effects of the infamous 2007 floods, as well as becoming enlightened on the many ways in which the town has adapted since then to combat future flooding events with integrated means of mitigation.
During the time within the museum, Geography students also participated in practicals to measure the permeability of different surfaces and materials, concluding with the opportunity to ask residents for their experiences living with the potential threat of future flood events.
