The Year 12 students spent the morning in a series of workshops looking at different options for their next steps after Prince Henry’s. Representatives from 21 different apprenticeship providers, universities and employers came to work with the students. Three students who left us last year, Theo Rodgers, Meg Evans and Harry Gorrill, also came to support the conference, leading discussions with different groups of students about the experience of going to university. Some talks were very specific to particular paths or subject areas and careers, whilst others gave more general advice about different paths and there was also advice on interview technique and CV writing. The Next Step Conference builds on work done looking at future paths in Enrichment and Guidance lessons and during Tutor time, and is an important part of the Careers guidance that our Sixth Form students receive.
