On Tuesday, 16th December, all members of Workman House gathered in the Henrician Theatre for an assembly celebrating the achievements of their peers.
Among those recognised were the newly elected House Ambassadors and House Leaders for Workman:
Year 9 House Ambassador – Ellen Flaxman
Year 10 House Ambassador – Anya Harris
Year 11 House Ambassador – Ned Barnes
Year 12 House Leaders – Thomas Hill and Chloe Honeywell
Additionally, those who have taken part in recent inter-house sporting fixtures received our appreciation for their efforts on the Rugby and Hockey pitches.
Following this, House Point Awards were given to students who have been recognised by their teachers as having worked diligently and embodied the Prince Henry’s values, both within the classroom and beyond. Members of the Senior Leadership Team presented 23 Workman students with awards in total. In particular, Saffron Buttler, Martha Hobbs and Ava Miller were awarded their Gold Award for achieving 180 house points, an accolade to be extremely proud of.
The students were also given two school values to specifically focus on for this half term of dedication and resilience. They were asked to reflect on the impact of these values on themselves, their peers and teachers on a day-to-day basis. Together, dedication and resilience create a community where learning thrives, and hence, students feel motivated to achieve their very best.
I hope to see even more members of Workman House on stage receiving awards at the next House Assembly and being congratulated not only for the outstanding classwork they produce, but also for arriving to school promptly every morning, maintaining excellent attendance rates and putting themselves forward to participate in some of the many inter-house competitions available at Prince Henry’s High School.
