This week, all members of Workman House gathered in the Henrician Theatre for an assembly celebrating the achievements of their peers in lessons, in extra-curricular clubs and, of course, in our hugely successful Prince Henry’s Day. This day, held at the end of September, was the first large-scale opportunity for students to represent Workman House on the sporting field. All members of our House played with passion, integrity and fairness, resulting in an outstanding day and an overall Workman victory!
In our assembly, we recognised the hard work and dedication of our students and presented a large number of House Point Awards as a result.
Members of the Senior Leadership Team presented these awards to Workman students, with twelve students being given the new Platinum House Point Award, which recognises those who have received 240 House Points or more due to diligent work and by embodying our Prince Henry’s Values. Likewise, Finley Arthurs, George Godfrey, Gwendolyn Kakalejcikova, Natan Karbarz and Anna Watton also received their House Award for surpassing 300 House Points, whilst Oliver Aston also received his PHHS Special Recognition Award for surpassing 400 House Points, both accolades to be exceptionally proud of. We wish to congratulate these students for reaching such incredible milestones and hope that we will be able to present more students with these fantastic awards in future assemblies.
We have a lot of upcoming opportunities in which students can represent our House, including our election for the House and Diversity Council. These representatives are voted for by their peers to act as a voice for the student body, bringing ideas and enthusiasm to meetings and helping to shape life at Prince Henry’s.
The house values of courage and initiative were also selected as Workman’s focus for this term, as together these values foster participation and intrinsic drive amidst students, which subsequently creates an exciting and proactive school environment for all.
I hope to see even more members of Workman House on stage receiving awards at the next House Assembly, being congratulated not only for the outstanding classwork they produce, but also for arriving at school promptly every morning, maintaining excellent attendance rates and putting themselves forward to participate in some of the many extra-curricular activities available at Prince Henry’s High School.
