Prince Henry's

Visit from Chairman of Governors

I visited the school on Tuesday 6th January to meet with Dr Evans. Following an update from Dr Evans on curriculum, achievement, teaching, staffing, building and budgetary matters, we particularly focussed upon the local issues that are emerging in relation to the educational landscape and the development of our intended Multi Academy Trust. Dr Evans explained to me the significant developments that Teaching School was having upon our alliance in South Worcestershire. A newsletter is now available on our website providing the latest information about the work we are doing.

The Senior Leadership team has also just completed a self-evaluation exercise for the whole school and will shortly be engaging in the development of the School Improvement Plan. I was encouraged to see the aspirational targets that the students have been set and hopefully we shall see the rewards in the summer,

There is a lot to look forward to this term including the forthcoming Parents’ Evenings, the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Core Maths Conference, and numerous trips both nationally and internationally. I am grateful to Alan Harris (Chairman of Finance Committee) and Dr Evans together will colleagues from the Middle and First Schools as they work towards the formation of the Multi Academy Trust. This will bring stability to the provision for education in our already successful pyramid, especially during very turbulent times.

Dr Evans also shared with me some exciting plans to further develop the Arts Theatre, the Sports Hall and other buildings on the school site. There are many more initiatives which are taking place which Dr Evans will share with the community through his newsletters and the website. I wish all of you a very Happy and prosperous 2015.
