VEX REGIONAL COMPETITION
On Saturday 12th, 3 members of the Sixth Form VEX Robotics team ‘The Henricans’, visited Redmoor Academy in Hinckley to compete at a Regional Competition. The team took their competition ready robot and managed to win 6 out of 9 qualifying games, putting them in 4th out of 12 teams. They were held back by a couple of unlucky technical difficulties which compromised the robots abilities in a few individual games.
Going into the knockout alliance rounds, our team allied with the first placed team, who currently hold the highest score in the UK. This allowed the team to excel in the following matches and they successfully won through to the finals.
The final game was tougher, but they won the first 2 games of 3 crowning them Tournament Champions and giving them automatic National Championship qualification.
Now, the team are preparing for more regionals and developing the robot to a higher standard to compete against other teams from across the country.
