In early April we took away four teams to the beautiful town of Valkenburg in Southern Holland to experience a football and netball tour. Whilst away the students received outside coaching from the tour company Masterclass, as well as playing fixtures against local opposition and other touring British schools. The sporting side of the trip was a huge success with the two netball teams winning the Masterclass Cup and Trophy competitions. The U15 football team won the Masterclass tournament whilst remaining undefeated against Dutch opposition. The U17 football team won all three of their games against local teams which were well balanced and very competitive. Aside from the sport and all the physical and social benefits it brings, the students also took part in a range of activities which included tobogganing, laser tag, a swimming park and Pancake House. Everyone had a great time and we can’t wait for the next tour to come around.
