PRINCE HENRY’S CELEBRATES GOLD

Prince Henry’s High School has been awarded the Sainsbury’s Sports Mark Gold Award for the third year running. In order to achieve this prestigious award the PE department had to demonstrate its continuing commitment to extra-curricular activities, interschool sport and intra school competitions. We have also given our students the opportunity to engage in leadership and volunteering opportunities. It is fantastic that we have been awarded this again in recognition of our students’ and staffs’ commitments to sports, volunteering & leadership.

Dr Evans, Headteacher commented “I am delighted that Prince Henry’s has been re-awarded the School Games Gold award.  This is a wonderful endorsement of the sporting achievements of our students across a full range of activities and all year groups.  It also reflects the hard work and commitment of the PE staff, particularly in their support of extra-curricular sporting activities.  I would like to place my thanks to all of them on record, and in particular, Mrs Thorner, who coordinates our Sports Mark programme.”
