Spanish Exchange 2013

SPANISH EXCHANGE 2013

This year we once again enjoyed a highly successful exchange with our partner school, IES Ben-al-Jatib. In January nineteen Prince Henry’s students from Years 11 and 12 spent a week, living with their host family in the village of La Cala del Moral, near Málaga in Southern Spain.

The Spanish school arranged a variety of fantastic activities for us, which included a day trip to the beautiful city of Córdoba and a trip to the picturesque coastal village of Nerja, where some of our braver students took advantage of the warm weather and even ventured into the sea! Before a tour of the city of Málaga, our students sampled the traditional hot chocolate and ‘churros’ in one of the city’s most famous cafés; an experience thoroughly enjoyed by all. On our final evening, we were entertained by a farewell gathering organised in the school grounds.

Then, in February it was our turn to host the Spanish students on the return leg of the exchange. Trips to Stratford and to Worcester were successful, but the most popular proved to be Cadbury’s World and then on to shop in the Bull Ring, Birmingham. The planned activities were rounded off by a fantastic party in the PRH with musical entertainment provided by some of our Sixth Form students. All in all a memorable experience!
