On Monday 20th March, Year 12 and 13 Drama and Theatre Studies students attended a lecture by Dr Darren Freebury – Jones at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. The purpose of the visit was to consolidate learning and support revision for the written paper looking at one of our set A Level texts, ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. The social, cultural and historical context was explored covering characters, themes, genre, comedy and the patriarchal society of Shakespeare’s time. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and got a lot from the visit writing copious notes and really engaging with the lecture and discussion opportunities.
Thank you to Mr Perks for driving the minibus for us.
