Senior Prefect Weekend

Last week the thirty-two newly appointed Year 12 Senior Prefects spent two days at the Upton Warren Outdoor Centre. They were involved in a number of activities in teams including problem solving and a variety of high rope challenges before coming together on the second day in a team raft building challenge at Low Moor. They also camped overnight and enjoyed cooking for each other as well as participating in a programme of evening entertainment.

All the students faced many personal challenges, whether this was conquering their fears on the high ropes or working out how to light the oven, improvise without a microwave and cook their own dinner!   As well as hard work and strenuous activities there was a lot of fun and there were plenty of opportunities for relaxation. The team work amongst the group was exceptional – they all supported and helped each other even in opposing teams. The weather was very kind which made sitting around a camp fire and a night under canvas a real pleasure and resulted in many deliberate attempts to fall in during the highly competitive raft race.

The Senior Prefects have now taken up their responsibilities around school and will be helping out at both the Year 9 and Sixth Form Induction days.
