Classroom Routines
In order to make sure that all students can make the most of their lessons please make sure you follow the classroom routines below:
- Line up quietly outside of your classroom
- Enter classroom quietly and sensibly and with the correct equipment/books to ensure a prompt and meaningful start to lessons
- Stand behind your chairs until your teacher asks you to sit
- You should always put your planner on your desk
- Behave appropriately in lessons and engage with your learning
- Respect your teacher and your peers
- You should stand immediately if any members of Senior Leadership Team or your Year 9 Year Team
- At the end of the lesson you should pack up quietly when instructed to do so and stand behind your chairs
- You should exit the classroom quietly and sensibly
- During lessons, eating, chewing gum and the use of mobile phones is not allowed
Mobile phones
- If you choose to bring a mobile phone to school it should be turned off and placed in your bag at all times on the school site. If your phone is seen by a member of PHHS staff, it will be confiscated and will need to be collected by a parent or carer
Wear your uniform with pride
- Please ensure your outdoor coat is either plain navy blue, black, grey or white without logos or motifs
- Remember school shoes should be plain black and formal
- If you wish to wear earrings, please remember to wear only one small stud or sleeper in the lower part of the ear
- If you wish to wear a scarf these must be in black, blue, grey, white or a mix of these
- If you decide to wear make-up, this must be appropriate for school. Nail varnish and false nails must not be worn
- Please ensure your hair is appropriate for school ensuring no extreme hair styles, tramlines or shaved designs. Dramatic colour changes are not allowed
- Your shirts and blouses should be worn smartly and tucked in
- You should wear your blazers at all times when moving around the school
- Please make sure that skirts worn appropriately with the PHHS logo clearly visible
- If you choose to wear a ring please be aware that only one plain signet ring may be worn
- Bracelets and multiple rings are not allowed
