We had a great start to the year with the Summer Reading Log competition (records of books read during the summer holidays). The Reading Logs had been given to Year 9 students to complete during the summer and they were then entered into the competition. First and second prizes went to Stella Lincoln 9C, and Olivia Edwards 9C respectively. Highly Commended certificates were presented to Alexander Jackson 9C, Elizabeth Phillips 9M and Joseph Murray 9D.
In July, two Year 9 students won book token prizes for reading the most books from the Learning Resource Centre during the year. These were Connor Hurley now in 10C, and Maria Keane now in 10D.
There will be more competitions coming up during the year with the National Children’s Book Week competition in October beginning soon.
