We are incredibly proud of our public speaking team: George, Sophie and Susie, who represented Prince Henry’s with success at the recent ESU Public Speaking Competition, hosted at St Edward’s School, Cheltenham.
George delivered a captivating speech exploring Henry Ford’s philosophy, “Don’t find fault, find a remedy.” He impressed both judges and audience by connecting Ford’s words to contemporary issues, particularly the challenges of climate change, offering a thoughtful and inspiring message about modern responsibility and problem solving.
Sophie received excellent feedback for her role as Questioner. Her insightful, probing questions demonstrated maturity, clarity and real intellectual curiosity.
Susie, acting as Chair, was a consummate professional: calm, confident and engaging as she guided the audience seamlessly through the presentation.
Competition on the day was strong, with other teams exploring a wide range of fascinating topics from the importance of music to safeguarding our online identities. Despite the high standard, our team rose to the challenge with skill and creativity.
We are delighted to announce that George, Sophie and Susie are one of three teams to progress to the Regional Finals of the competition. Preparations are already underway, and we wish them every success in the next round.
