Parallel Election Speeches

This morning, five Year 12 students (representing the five main political parties) made speeches in front of the rest of the year to launch a parallel election. Their speeches were very thought-provoking and were all justifiably greeted with rapturous applause. The students have embarked upon a wholescale election process with posters, campaigning and candidates supported by campaign managers and a team of supporters. Within the Sixth Form there is a considerable amount of discussion about the different parties and the issues affecting both young people and the wider population, and today’s speeches have put these issues into even sharper focus.

Well done to:

      • Barnaby Gibbons (Liberal Democrats)

      • Caitlin Snell (Green)

      • Toby Collins (Labour)

      • Henry Clelland (Conservative)

      • McKenzie Reeve (Reform)

Over the next 10 days there will be hustings during form time when Year 12 students can put their questions to our election candidates.  3rd July is Polling Day in Year 12 and the final results will be announced on 4th July.
