PRINCE HENRY’S YOUNG LEADERS SUPPORT SCHOOLS FESTIVAL
Pershore Tennis Centre hosted an annual Schools Festival on the 16th April. The coaching team at the local Club ran the event to bring children together through tennis as part of the Sainsbury’s School Games initiative; Active Kids.
Steve and the caoching team hosted 5 local Primary Schools; Defford, St Mary’s (Evesham) Broadway, Holy Redeemer and Cropthorne, involving 128 children and 180 matches throughout the day!
Sam Hook – the School Games organiser for South Worcestershire – stated that it’s “amazing to see so many young children and young leaders coming together to play tennis. Thank you to all those involved including all the team at Pershore Tennis Centre and the young Leaders from Prince Henry’s High School in making the event such a huge success!”
We’re very active in promoting tennis for all ages and abilities and Steve Bauer – Head Coach – said that “we ran two sessions aiming to bring the children together to have a fun, inspiring tennis experience at Pershore Tennis Centre.”
The Festival was a huge success, with the winning team going through to the County Finals at Bromsgrove on 23 June. Well done to all involved!
