Lily took part in two disciplines, these being Dressage which took place on Tuesday 12th August and then in Eventing which took place over two days, these being Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August
On the Tuesday, Lily took part in the Dressage as part of a team of 4, on behalf of her pony club, Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt Pony Club. The team did exceptionally well but finished just outside of the top 10 placing although each rider also competes on an individual basis and Lily finished 9th overall in her section which is a huge achievement as she competed on her new horse, Nacho who is only 5 years old and wasn’t expected to qualify for the championship this year
In the Eventing section, Lily had a personal best dressage score of 24.2 which saw her go into the show jumping element in 2ndplace. Sadly Nacho’s age showed and he took a couple of poles out which dropped them down the placings overnight, prior to undertaking the cross country element on the Saturday. Nacho and Lily did exceptionally well on the Saturday but in the end, Lily retired at fence 15 of 18 which was the right thing to do but we are exceptionally proud of what this new pairing achieved over the three days
From there, Lily headed north to Summerford where she undertook three days of training under the Performance Pathway group, Front Runners which pick only 72 young riders from across the country to train and help in there British Eventing career. All went very well and in September/October, Lily will compete at
