On Wednesday 21st October, all members of Lichfield House gathered in the Henrician Theatre to celebrate the achievements of house members. All members of Lichfield House were congratulated for their excellent contributions on our recent Prince Henry’s Day. This day, held at the end of September, was the first large-scale chance of the year to represent Lichfield House in various events and served as another reminder of all the talent and endeavour we have within our House. Further sporting achievements made by Lichfield members were also recognised, such as those who participated in the recent House Cross Country competition in which Lichfield House came out on top.
Following this, House Point Awards were given to students who have been recognised by their teachers as having worked diligently and for having embodied the Prince Henry’s values, both within the classroom and beyond. Members of the Senior Leadership Team presented Lichfield students with these accolades, with Harry Dickens, Mya Parkinson and Sunny Winkett being awarded the new Platinum House Point Award, which gives special recognition for students who have collected an excellent 240 House Points. A special mention goes to Jess Griffiths, who was presented with her House Award for an impressive 300 House Points. A real example for the rest of the house to look up to; all badge winners should be rightly proud of their efforts.
Students were also informed of upcoming opportunities available through the House System in the near future. One such opportunity being the chance to be a representative on the House and Diversity Council. Peers vote for these representatives to act as a voice for the student body, bringing ideas and enthusiasm to meetings and helping shape life at Prince Henry’s.
Lichfield House should be incredibly proud of how they have started the new academic year. I now look forward to the next opportunity to congratulate House members at our next House assembly. This includes recognition for their outstanding attitude to learning, arriving at school promptly every morning, maintaining excellent attendance rates, and putting themselves forward to participate in the many inter-house competitions available at Prince Henry’s High School.
Mr Price
Head of Lichfield House
