The Art, Textiles and Design department were delighted to host bespoke Designer Sophie Cudworth for the morning in 19th June. Sophie brought a collection of her original design work, as well as a series of sketchbook and gemstones. Students learnt from Sophie about how she achieved her success, from A Levels through to running her own company. She discussed the design process, use of materials, and the roles of the team she works with. Students got to look at gemstones under the microscope and learned about how to distinguish real from synthetic gemstones. Students then developed their own designs, working with chosen stones and developing settings around them. Thankyou so much to Sophie for gifting her time and expertise and bringing the world of Bespoke Jewelry designing to life.
