International School Award 2016-19
We were delighted to receive the news that Prince Henry’s has been re-awarded the International School Award for a further three years. This is the third consecutive time that the award has been made to the school.
Awarded by the British Council, the International School Award seeks to celebrate, develop, recognise and accredit outstanding practice in the international dimensions of teaching and learning. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the award, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need to live and work as global citizens.
In making the award, the British Council recognised the wide range of activities undertaken by staff and students at Prince Henry’s, including our Year 9 Cultural Day; exchange programmes with schools in France, Spain and Germany; a wide range of overseas trips including visits organised by the Geography, History and Music Departments; and for Sixth Form students, the opportunity to participate in World Challenge and visiting our partner school at Dumila in Tanzania.
These activities would not be possible without the enthusiastic support of students, staff and parents, and I would also like to thank Mrs Bloom for her work in preparing the ISA application.
