On Tuesday, 18th November, all members of Holland House gathered in the Henrician Theatre for an assembly celebrating the achievements of their peers.
Among those recognised were the newly elected House Ambassadors and House Leaders for Holland:
Year 9 House Ambassador – Jacob Lloyd
Year 10 House Ambassador – Oleh Pikhur
Year 11 House Ambassador – Kayra Iqbal
Year 12 House Leaders – Lexi Grove and Rhys Elliott
Additionally, those who have taken part in recent inter-house sporting fixtures received our appreciation for their efforts on the Rugby and Hockey pitches.
Following this, House Point Awards were given to students who have been recognised by their teachers as having worked diligently and embodied the Prince Henry’s values, both within the classroom and beyond. Members of the Senior Leadership Team presented 21 Holland students with awards in total. With Fernanda Bufi, Heidi Powell and Karina Krasimirova being awarded their Gold Award for achieving 180 house points.
The students were also given two school values to specifically focus on for this half term of respect and honesty. They were asked to reflect on the impact of these values on themselves, their peers and teachers on a day-to-day basis. Together, honesty and respect create a community where learning thrives, and students feel motivated and secure to achieve what they wish to achieve.
I hope to see even more members of Holland House on stage receiving awards at the next House Assembly and being congratulated not only for the outstanding classwork they produce, but also for arriving to school promptly every morning, maintaining excellent attendance rates and putting themselves forward to participate in some of the many inter-house competitions available at Prince Henry’s High School.
Miss Fenney
