We have been delighted with the GCSE results achieved by over 300 students at Prince Henry’s High School.
This is the ninth year of GCSE results following the introduction of the reformed numeric grading system (9–1, with 9 being the highest grade). To help parents and carers understand the equivalencies, a Grade 4 is considered a standard pass (broadly equivalent to the legacy grade C); a Grade 5 is regarded as a strong pass; a Grade 6 is broadly equivalent to a high B grade; while Grades 7–9 are broadly equivalent to the legacy A–A* grades.
The overall results for 2026 have once again been wonderful, reflecting the hard work, commitment and determination of our students.
Congratulations to our top performer, Megan Edwards, who achieved an impressive 9 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 7s.

Of course, there are many more individual success stories, with students across the school achieving results of which they can be extremely proud.
With such a large cohort taking examinations, the following figures provide an indication of the excellent achievements across the school:
73% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths.
83% of the cohort achieved Grade 4 or above in English.
80% of the cohort achieved Grade 4 or above in Maths.
75% of students achieved Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths.
48% of students achieved Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths.
74% of all grades awarded across all subjects were Grade 4 or above.
42% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate.
We are also delighted that 98% of our students achieved five GCSEs at Grades 9–1.
These results represent the culmination of many years of hard work by our students, supported throughout by their families and by staff across the school.
Dr Tony Evans, Headteacher, commented:
“I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to all of our Year 11 students and to their parents, carers and families. They have been a truly lovely year group: hardworking, committed and a real pleasure to have as part of the Prince Henry’s community. They thoroughly deserve the success they have achieved.
Our motto at Prince Henry’s is ‘Great things from small things grow’, and these results are a wonderful reflection of the effort, determination and dedication that our students have shown throughout their time with us. They should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming many of these students back to Prince Henry’s Sixth Form in September and to seeing them continue to grow and flourish. For those moving on to other exciting opportunities, we wish them every success for the future.
These achievements would not be possible without the tremendous support of our staff, parents, carers, families and governors. My warmest congratulations go to all of our students and their families – this is a moment to celebrate, and one they richly deserve.”
