We have been delighted with the GCSE results achieved by over 300 students at Prince Henry’s High School.
This is the seventh year of GCSE reform since the introduction of numeric grades (9-1, with 9 being the top grade). To help parents and carers understand the equivalencies, a numeric 4 is considered to be a standard pass (equivalent to the legacy grade C); a numeric 5 is a good or strong pass (C-B grade); a 6 is the equivalent of the legacy high B grade; while numeric 7-9 grades equate to the legacy A-A* grades.
The overall results for 2024 have once again been wonderful.

Of course, there are many more success stories and the results across many of the benchmarks are closely matching those seen since the introduction of the reformed GCSEs seven years ago, including the Centre Assessed Grades of 2020 and 2021.
With such a large cohort taking examinations, to provide an approximate indication of the across-the-board successes, the school is particularly pleased that 68% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths. 82% of the cohort achieved a Grade 4 in English and 80% achieved the same measure in Maths. 74% of our students achieved Grade 4s in both English and Maths. 76% of all the grades across all subjects were Grade 4+ and 100 students achieved the English Baccalaureate. We are delighted that many of our students worked extremely hard to achieve their target grades with 97% achieving 5 GCSEs with Grades 9-1.
