First Steps: Starting in Sixth Form

Starting your jounrey at Prince Henry's Sixth Form

A Message from Mrs Webb, Director of Sixth Form

A very warm welcome to all students who are joining Prince Henry’s Sixth Form in September 2026. This page is dedicated to you and it applies equally to those who are currently at PHHS and those of you who will be joining us from different schools.

It was lovely to see so many of you at our Induction Day and I hope that you feel well prepared for a positive start in September. On this page is a link to the Induction Booklet that you received and this will be useful reading if you were not able to attend in June. This booklet contains essential information about our option blocks and how to confirm your choices on Results Day (20th August) to finalise your place.

In the different subject areas there are a range of activities and tasks that you can complete to prepare you for starting your Level 3 courses with us. Just follow the links to the subjects you wish to study to find the materials. Trying out some of the materials might help with your final decision-making about which subjects you wish to study as there is information about the different courses as well as activities to work on. Completing the tasks is not mandatory, and you are not expected to bring work with you when you start with us, but if you wish to make a strong start to your studies next year you would be well advised to complete as many of the preparation activities as you can, and we strongly suggest you store all work completed safely as it will be relevant and helpful for you.

As well as information about your future courses, there are some stretch and challenge wider reading activities including reading lists, podcasts and films. It is really good practice to get into the habit of doing this wider reading and subscribing to relevant podcasts so that when you are studying in Sixth Form you are enriching your understanding.

I hope you enjoy engaging with your learning and taking the first step to becoming a fully-fledged Year 12 student.

On the first day, Wednesday 2nd September there will be a range of activities to help you to settle in, familiarise yourself with the school site and make new friends.

If you have any questions or concerns about starting in our Sixth Form in September please contact the Sixth Form Office and we will be happy to help: sixthform@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk

I, and the Sixth Form Team, look forward to working with you and welcoming you to our Sixth Form.
