Prince Henry's
High School

As we prepare to close the school for the Christmas period, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our students, staff and parents once again for your commitment and unflagging support. 2014 has been another busy, but highly successful for year for Prince Henry’s as our video shows.

I thought that you would also like to know that at the end of this term we will be saying farewell to our Head of Sixth Form, Mr McGarvey who, after 18 years at the school, has accepted the opportunity to establish a Sixth Form at Alderbrook School in Solihull. Mrs Webb, who has been one of our Deputy Heads of Sixth Form will be taking over his role. Miss Holly Pomeroy, Head of Drama, has also decided to take a career break in order to spend more time with her young family, and will be leaving us at Christmas. Mrs Cook will be taking over as Acting Head of Drama pending formal appointment. Mrs Aitken has just returned from maternity leave, which means that we are also saying goodbye to Miss Torr – an NQT who has done a marvellous job covering Mrs Aitken’s absence and has a very bright future ahead of her, I am sure. We wish all of these colleagues every success in their new roles.

Finally, can I wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and very best wishes for 2015, which is already shaping up to be an extremely exciting one for Prince Henry’s.

We look forward to welcoming students back to school at the start of next term on Monday 5th January (week 2 in the timetable).

Kind regards

Dr Tony Evans
Headteacher
