Drop the Mic has once again proved to be one of the most exciting nights on the school calendar, bringing students and staff together to kick off the festive season in style. This year’s show featured an impressive variety of performances—rock bands, dancers, singers, and musicians—ranging from moving ballads to electrifying showstoppers. It was a phenomenal celebration of talent and creativity.
Our winners on the night were Izzie Newrick and Kitty Andrews (Y11). Second place was awarded to the Year 13 band featuring Vivek Lad, Ewan Evans, Frazer Goodlad, and Jackson Conneally, and third place went to Connor Bennett (Y13).
Events like this are only possible thanks to the collaboration of staff and students across all year groups: our performers, artists, backstage crew, technicians, box office team, and raffle and refreshments volunteers. A special thank-you goes to our wonderful hosts Iris Risdale and Steve Unwin, and to our judges Mr Cooper, Miss Jackson, Mrs Webb, and Mr Dick. We are also incredibly grateful to our fantastic tech team—Mr Pilling and Mr Rees, supported by students James Cooper, Johnny Stevens, and Ewan Evans—as well as our dedicated backstage crew, particularly Lilia Underwood and Freya Bonham, led by Miss Rose. Thank you also to Mrs Kirby and the Interact students for managing the front of house.
We already cannot wait for next year’s show.
