On Friday 11th October Mr Kitson led a group of 15 A Level English Language students on an outing to see the renowned Language Professor David Crystal discuss his new book ‘Wordsmiths and Warriors’ at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. David Crystal talked about the historic influences on the English Language and how it has been influenced by different cultures and languages, something the students have been focussing on in A Level English Language. The talk was both insightful and humorous and was followed by Q and A from the public.
After the talk the students were fortunate enough to exchange a few words with Professor Crystal and have a picture taken with him.
