Bloodhound SSC Project
Students thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Prince Henry’s by Peter McCree, an ambassador for the Bloodhound SSC project, on Tuesday 26th March. This is a national project building a car, Bloodhound SSC, to break the world land speed record next year, when they are hoping to reach 1,000 miles per hour!
Students in all years enjoyed learning about the aims of the project, the components of the car and the challenges in terms of science and engineering . Year 12 General Studies students also thought about the justification of the cost for this project. In the afternoon, 22 Year 9 Science Club students had the opportunity to find out more about this project and to design, build and race their own balloon model cars. Students were inspired to find out more about science and engineering and are keen to follow the progress of this project.
