On 28th November the Year 12 and 13 Classical Civilisation students visited the National Gallery and the British Museum so that they could see the original artefacts and exhibits related to their studies. In the National Gallery they explored the way in which Greek and Roman civilisations and stories have been depicted in art at different times and in different periods. After some free time looking at the Christmas market in Trafalgar Square the students walked to the British Museum to visit the Greek and Roman galleries. As well as seeing representations of the Greek myths and artefacts relating to religion, politics and culture in Ancient Greece and Rome, they were able to engage with the debate about the ethics of keeping such exhibits in Britain in the light of the current debate.
