SENIOR PREFECT TRIP

The newly elected Senior Prefects enjoyed the traditional team-building visit to Upton Warren outdoor centre at the end of June.   They participated in a variety of activities where cooperation and team building were paramount and successfully navigated the different challenges that they faced.  Once they had bonded as teams, they faced the challenge of the high ropes course including a climbing wall and the notorious ‘leap of faith’.  The two days culminated in a raft building exercise, all 3 rafts made it across the water with varying degrees of success although one raft did have to shed most of its crew into the lake in order to move at any speed.  The Prefects camped overnight and enjoyed cooking for each other as well as participating in a programme of evening entertainment including extreme bingo, a scavenger hunt and marshmallows round the campfire.

All the students faced many personal challenges, whether this was conquering their fears on the high ropes or working out how to light the gas stove, toast a curly-wurly in the campfire and successfully barbecue sausages!  As well as hard work and strenuous activities there was a lot of fun and there were plenty of opportunities for relaxation. The team work amongst the group was exceptional – they all supported and helped each other even in opposing teams.
