Support Staff Vacancies: Library Assistant
Starting Date: 1st September 2020
Salary Grade: Prince Henry’s Support Staff Scale 2 (point 5-8), starting at point 5
Salary Range: From £7,045 – £7,265 per annum (£17,875 – £18,434 full-time equivalent)
Hours: 17.5 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks)
We are currently looking for a Library Assistant to work 17.5 hours per week in our Learning Resource Centre during term time only.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the daily management of the Learning Resource Centre situated at the heart of the school. This will involve managing LRC bookings, issuing and re-shelving books, placing orders, supervising vulnerable students, maintaining an attractive environment, running the LRC stationery shop and supporting the Teacher Librarian in events to encourage reading for both pleasure and learning.
The successful candidate will:
- Enjoy working with young people;
- Be passionate about reading for information and wider reading for pleasure;
- Ideally, be confident and experienced in using Eclipse library software (although training can be provided);
- Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office;
- Most important, will be a team player.
Experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of SIMS, although neither are essential.
Prince Henry’s is a popular and over-subscribed 13-18 High School with approximately 1280 on roll including more than 330 in one of Worcestershire’s largest Sixth Forms. The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and has consistently been judged outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in May 2013. In May 2014, the school was awarded National Teaching School Status and, having been accredited with SCITT status, has been offering its own Initial Teacher Training programmes since September 2017.
