Purple 4 Polio

On Tuesday 19th October eighteen Interactors set off from school to walk to Hampton Ferry to plant 4000 crocus on the riverbank. The weather forecast was not good, cloud and rain, but we were prepared in our boots and waterproofs. We crossed the river on the chain ferry in small groups to join members of Evesham Rotary on the opposite bank. The Rotarians had prepared a planting site with a large P4P logo cut into the soil. The students enthusiastically set about planting the corms and relaying the turf.

It was a well organised team effort. When the planting was complete, the students listened to a short talk about the campaign to eradicate Polio worldwide. We then enjoyed lunch at Raphael’s at the riverside before walking back to school. The sun had shone and the rain held off and the students were inspired to continue to support the End Polio Campaign.
