LORD FAULKNER VISITS PRINCE HENRY’S
We were delighted to welcome Lord Faulkner of Worcester to Prince Henry’s this afternoon.
During his visit Lord Faulkner, who was appointed to the House of Lords in 1999, formally opened The Grove building and unveiled a memorial board to Gordon Grove in the presence of several members of Mr Grove’s family. Mr Grove’s son, daughters, son-in-law and granddaughter also had the opportunity to meet Lord Faulkner and reminisce on Gordon’s life and his time as a student and teacher at Prince Henry’s. They were also able to look at photographs and documents from the school archive which related to Gordon.
After a tour of the school, Lord Faulkner gave a presentation in the Arts Theatre to the Sixth Form, offering an illuminating insight into the function of the House of Lords and the work of the peers within it. This was then followed by an in-depth question and answer session with students, covering a wide range of topics related to the House of Lords and to current political events.
