Alex Gregory Returns

Olympic Sunshine on a Rainy Day

A damp and dreary morning in November was illuminated by golden memories of Brazilian sunshine when Alex Gregory made a return visit to Prince Henry’s earlier today.

Alex delighted and inspired the whole school in 3 special assemblies when he showed the students both of his Olympic Gold medals from the London Olympics in 2012 and Rio in 2016.

During his assemblies he reminded students that he had sat exactly where they were sitting between 1997 and 2002. He told them to “make the most of every opportunity that comes your way because one of them could change your life. I only had a go at rowing because one of my friends thought I would like it.”

As a key member of Great Britain’s record-breaking Olympics team, Alex is world class proof that “Great things from small things grow”.
