Prince Henry’s Sixth Form

Over the years the Sixth Form at Prince Henry’s has been one of the largest in the West Midlands . The results achieved by our students have been consistently outstanding and amongst the best in the country. We are very proud of the achievements of our students, of their academic performance and of the way they conduct themselves as young people.

The OFSTED Inspectors who visited us in May 2010 found that the Sixth Form was outstanding (the highest category). They also judged the outcomes for students in the Sixth Form to be outstanding, the quality of Sixth Form provision to be outstanding and the leadership & management of the Sixth Form to be outstanding.

There are many exciting opportunities for our Sixth Formers to expand their horizons by participating in activities in and out of school including study visits abroad. So look carefully to see whether a place at Prince Henry’s Sixth Form could be right for you.

We offer a wide range of Advanced Level GCE (or equivalent) courses which cater for a wide range of needs. There is a very high stay-on rate into the Sixth Form and most of our students progress on to a variety of universities, including Oxford & Cambridge.

Advanced Level study is not the right thing for every student. We do, therefore, urge pupils and their parents to listen carefully to the Careers advice which our staff give.

Experience has shown that students do need to have achieved a certain minimum level at GCSE in order to have at least a reasonable chance of success at AS Level. I therefore ask you to read very carefully the criteria for admission to the Sixth Form which is contained in the Sixth Form prospectus.
